Celebrating 90 Years of Innovation

Before the invention of self-adhesive stickers, most food and product labels relied on water-activated adhesive gums to stick. This laborious process involved handwritten tags, which were often unreliable, messy and inefficient.

In 1935 Stan Avery invented the first self-adhesive label, revolutionising labelling forever. This innovation transformed how businesses marketed their products and enabled companies to streamline their organisation, branding and marketing efforts.

Since then, Avery has expanded its product range, developed cutting-edge printing technologies, and embraced digital innovation to ensure that customers have the best solutions at their fingertips.

Thanks for sticking with Avery — here’s to another 90 years!
