Create a Family Life Organiser
Being organised is important in the workplace, but it's just as important when it comes to your home and family too. Family life can be just as hectic as your professional life, but with an organiser in place, you've got all your important family documents in order. All you need to get started is a binder or folder, a set of Avery® IndexMaker™ Dividers and all the vital information for your family.

If the family organiser is going to be truly useful, it needs to contain all the information that is key to keeping you organised. Since every family's different, you'll probably want to create a few categories of your own, but here are some basics to get you started!

Contact Information

Do you have your important numbers to hand? Can you access that all important number for the plumber or a dentist when you need it? Put all your contact information in a section of your organiser so anyone can find it at any time. This section should hold all your emergency numbers and other frequently called or important numbers. You'll find it a life-saver should you lose your mobile phone! To make it even more convenient, add sheets of paper behind the numbers so you can easily take messages and jot notes without having to hunt for scraps of paper when you're on the phone.

Health and Medical Records

Doctor's appointments, dental visits how can you keep track of it all? With the family life organiser, you'll have all your family's information at your fingertips. Create a page for every member of the family, and include important information such as blood type and allergy information. Keep track of each person's medical history, and include dates and reasons for each medical visit. You can even add a page for family pets so you can keep track of their checkups and vaccinations.

Legal and Finance Information

If you've ever lost your wallet or purse, you know how time-consuming it is to cancel and re-order all your cards. So for easy reference of all your legal and financial matters, the organiser is your place to go. Make a copy of your ATM cards and credit cards (front and back) and all the financial institutions you do business with. You'll also want to include a copy of your driver's license, passport information, and insurance information.

Important Dates and Gift Lists

You'll never miss an important event with your organiser to hand. Here's where you can keep a list of all those birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions that happen throughout the year. In addition, you can also keep wish lists, gift lists, and clothing size charts in your binder, making gift-giving so much easier.

Get Started on the Project!

Once you've collected the information for your family life organiser, start creating your family's folder. Why not print an A4 photograph of your family to use on the front cover? For the inside, use Avery IndexMaker Dividers for each of your sections. Each set of dividers comes with a printable table of contents sheet and a clear sheet or printable tabs. You can create a title page with a family photo again, and divider labels for each of your information sections. Our free Avery Wizard includes IndexMaker templates which make it easy for you to create your own customised dividers. Once done you can rest easy knowing that your family life is just as organised as your workplace!
