Jump to Step: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9

Step 1: Get Ready to File!

Instructions: A Quickvue filing solution allows you to avoid lots of the common problems associated with standard hanging filing systems, like ripped and damaged files or messy labels. Implementing a Quickvue filing system is easy. Check out Quickvue Filing: the Quick Way to Organisation! for more information on getting ready. You'll find hints on selecting the right Quickvue solution and designing the right filing system. Then, follow the remaining steps. Here we take you through adding file title labels to your Quickvue files.

Step 2: Download Avery DesignPro 5 Light

Instructions: We recommend Avery DesignPro 5 Light for preparing file title labels. Download and install the software.

Step 3: Start Your Labels

Instructions: Open Avery DesignPro 5 Light. Click on File, select New, then Project from Scratch.

Step 5: Design the First File Title Label

Instructions: Let's assume you'd like the font, colour, size etc to be the same on each label.

1. Down the bottom of your screen, click on the yellow button that says Label 1. Label 1 will appear, and will be blank.
2. Click on Insert on the menu bar, then select Text. A text box will appear.
3. Type the information you would like as the title of one of your files. For example, if you have files on each of your staff, you might enter 'Annon, Chloe' as your first label.
4. Insert your cursor into the text box and select all the text. Your menu bar will show a drop down menu for the font style, size and colour. Edit these as you wish.

Step 6: Position Your Text

Instructions: Move the text box down to the bottom half of the label. The file title labels are applied with part of the label visible on the front and part on the back. Moving the text box to the bottom half of the label ensures the text is visible from the front.

Step 7: Use Your Design on Your Other Labels

Instructions: 1. When you've completed Step Design the First File Title Label and Step Position Your Text, click on the Copy Tab button. This appears at the bottom of your screen, on the left hand side of the Master tab. This will create Label 2, with the information you added to Label 1. It will save you needing to adjust the fonts, colours etc on Label 2.
2. On Label 2, click your cursor inside the text box and type the information for your next label
3. Repeat the above 2 points for the remainder of your labels
