Make Your Message Stick With Magnetic Business Cards

With Avery® Magnetic Business Cards, you can leaving a marketing message that really sticks! Avery Magnetic Business Cards are the perfect size for carrying around and leaving with clients and potential clients. You can customise messages and print the quantity you need, when you need them. Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating magnets using Avery Design & Print Online.

Step 1: Plan Your Marketing Message

Instructions: Avery Magnetic Business Cards are a great way to distribute a message to clients and potential clients. Your message should be clear and concise, so plan what the key objective of your magnets will be. What message is most important when that magnet is sitting on your client's fridge? It might be key to communicate hours of operation, or emphasise 24 hour service. It might be important to emphasise your brand values and logo. These objectives will influence the layout and design of the information on your magnet.

Step 2: Open Avery® Design & Print Online

Instructions: Avery Design & Print Online is our web-based software that allows you to customise all Avery printable labels, cards, tags, magnets and dividers. Go to Avery Design & Print Online and click on Start Now.

Step 3: Select the Magnetic Business Card Template

Instructions: Avery printable products have a software code on the pack, which is used to find the template in our software. The software code for our magnetic business cards is IJ37. Enter IJ37 in the Enter your product number here field. Click on Go.

Step 4: Select a Blank or Pre-designed Magnetic Business Card Template

Instructions: On the Select Your Design screen, you can select a blank template or a pre-designed template. Click on your preferred template and click Select & Customise.

If you selected a pre-designed template, you'll be asked "How would you like to start editing your design?". Click Edit on Design Screen.

Tip: If you have your own logo and colours, start with a blank template and create something that visually complements your web site, letterhead and standard business cards.

Step 5: Customise Your Magnets

Instructions: If you have selected a pre-designed template, then select each piece of existing text and type your information over it.

If you selected a blank template, add your logo by clicking on Images (on the left hand side) and then From My Computer. Navigate to where you have your logo saved.

To add text, click on Text (on the left hand side) and then New Text.

Tip: Think back to your key marketing message from step 1 and make that the focal point of your magnet. Use colour and font size to draw attention to the most important information.

Step 6: Preview and Print Your Magnets

Instructions: When you have finished designing your magnets, click on Print & Preview in the top right of the screen. A preview of your design will open. If you are happy with your project, click on Print. Design & Print Online will create an Adobe® Acrobat® PDF version of your project. Print from Adobe Reader® as normal, ensuring that your Page Size is set to A4 and Page Scaling is set to None.

Step 7: Save Your Magnetic Business Cards for Future Use

Instructions: To save your magnet document in the Adobe PDF format for future printing, click on Save in Adobe Reader and save it to your computer.

To save your magnets in an Avery Design & Print Online format that you can edit in the future, return to the Design & Print Online window and click on Save at the top of the screen. Save your file to your computer. You can open Design & Print Online at a later date and select the Load Project button to open your magnetic business cards. You can then edit your existing Design & Print Online file.
